About Yerba Buena
Yerba Buena Elementary teaches about 381 students from TK through 5th grade on Reyes Adobe Road in Agoura Hills (Ed-Data). Its About page describes a campus reached by a footbridge and surrounded by mountains, trees and a creek, and says the school has "the first outdoor classroom that was established in LVUSD," used for lessons, lunch and recess projects and Earth Day planting (Yerba Buena).
The school's mission makes arts and technology part of every student's day. The Innovation Station, a STEAM space in the media center funded by the Parent Faculty Association, has a green screen, Ozobots, Beebots, iPads, VR sets and stop-motion supplies, and the librarian and a head teacher plan monthly lessons for it (About Yerba Buena). A morning running club, Bobcats on the Run, meets before school on Wednesdays in the fall (Yerba Buena).
LVUSD's Buttercup Preschool, for 3- and 4-year-olds, is on the Yerba Buena campus (LVUSD). In 2026–27, grades 1–5 start at 8:00 am and TK and kindergarten at 8:05 am, and every Wednesday ends early (bell schedule). 5th graders spend March 1–5, 2027 at Outdoor Ed (YB calendar).

Math placement for Yerba Buena students
Las Virgenes sets each student's 6th-grade math level (Math 6, Math 6 High or Math 6 Accelerated) with a placement test at the end of 5th grade and teacher referrals, and publishes no score cutoffs (LVUSD). District 5th graders take the test in their own 5th-grade math class (Lindero Canyon dates), and the Las Virgenes placement guide explains the levels. Thousand Acorns Tutoring does not offer placement exam prep.
