Oak Park schools
Oak Park is an unincorporated community in Ventura County with its own district, Oak Park Unified (VCOE profile). OPUSD serves about 4,300 students from TK through 12th grade, and its K–8 schools are three elementary schools and one middle school (OPUSD history):
- Brookside Elementary, Oak Hills Elementary and Red Oak Elementary, TK–5. Elementary placement goes by a street list: "School Street List is for placement in Elementary Schools" (OPUSD boundaries).
- Medea Creek Middle School, 6–8, where all three elementary schools send their students.
The district has a history worth knowing: residents first sought to join Las Virgenes in 1970, and after three requests were denied the state approved Oak Park Unified in January 1977, with voters backing it that May by 93 percent. In 2013 it became "the first school district in California to receive national Green Ribbon recognition" (OPUSD history).

- 85% on the Medea Creek Algebra Readiness test;
- 85% on the MDTP.
The tests are given in March or April (OPUSD policy). The Oak Park Algebra I guide has the full rules. Thousand Acorns Tutoring does not offer placement exam prep.
