About Acacia

Acacia Magnet School for Enriched Learning is a TK–5 CVUSD magnet school on West Norman Avenue in Thousand Oaks, with about 340 students in 2025–26 (Ed-Data). Families in its neighborhood have enrollment priority, and other CVUSD students can apply through School of Choice (Acacia news).

The magnet theme is gifted-education practice for every student. Acacia uses the Schoolwide Enrichment Model, developed by Joseph Renzulli and Sally Reis at the University of Connecticut, and its teachers are trained in gifted education. In three rounds a year, on Friday mornings, students join enrichment clusters: small groups built around a shared interest, each led by a facilitator (Acacia SEM).

Students who show research-based character strengths are recognized with Trimester Awards (Acacia SEM). Grades 1–5 run from 8:15 am to 2:40 pm, with a 1:30 pm release on Wednesdays for teacher planning time (bell schedule). Most Acacia addresses feed Redwood Middle School, and some are assigned to Colina.
